The Law Offices of Elizabeth D. Sharp, P.C. represents owners, landlords, contractors and real estate specialists in all aspects of real estate acquisition, refinancing, ownership, and sale. Her years of experience with commercial real estate in Chicago's "Loop" enable her to bring a keen focus and understanding to better represent her clients.

Liz Sharp's transactional experience includes the purchase and sale of commercial office buildings, secured real estate lending and refinancing, construction contracts and commercial office leases. She has represented borrowers in more than a dozen secured real estate financing transactions with loans in excess of $46 million. Ms. Sharp routinely:

  • Represents lenders and life insurance companies on commercial real estate loans;
  • Works hand in hand with building owners and property management companies to accomplish real estate financings, draft and review commercial office leases, service contracts, contracts for tenant improvements and all other aspects of property ownership;
  • Represents clients before local governments in connection with zoning matters, special use permits, and public approvals;
  • Provides advice and counsel on agreements with general contractors and subcontractors, critical paths and liability issues, mechanic's liens, and construction escrows; and
  • Handles mechanics' lien and broker's lien issues for property owners and developers.

Liz Sharp is an experienced litigator in real estate matters. She has:

  • Experience in handling mortgage foreclosure proceedings, bankruptcy issues and bankruptcy adversary proceedings concerning real estate;
  • Handled more than 70 landlord-tenant disputes and forcible entry and detainer cases on behalf of landlords and property management companies;
  • Represented property owners in cases concerning breach of purchase and sales agreements, breach of service agreements, emergency injunctive relief and in easement disputes; and
  • Represented ownership in multiple high profile City of Chicago Municipal Code violation cases.
