Liz Sharp is skilled in all aspects of real estate acquisition, sales, refinancing, management, ownership, and leasing. She has closed dozens of real estate transactions valued in excess of $200 million. Ms. Sharp routinely:

  • Represents real estate owners, buyers and developers on commercial real estate acquisitions and sales;
  • Represents lenders, life insurance companies, and borrowers on commercial real estate financing transactions;
  • Represents landlords, property management companies and tenants on commercial office, retail and restaurant leases, lease termination agreements, service contracts and construction agreements;
  • Provides advice and counsel on contracts with general contractors and subcontractors, critical paths and liability issues, mechanic’s liens, and construction escrows; and
  • Handles mechanics’ lien and broker’s lien issues for property owners and developers.

She is also a talented litigator in a wide variety of real estate related matters. She has successfully handled:

  • More than 200 commercial landlord/tenant disputes and eviction cases on behalf of landlords, property management companies and tenants;
  • Easement and access disputes between private parties;
  • Actions for contract enforcement in real estate contract disputes, purchase and sales agreements, and emergency injunctive relief proceedings;
  • Multiple high-profile cases brought against building owners for alleged violations of the City of Chicago Municipal Code; and
  • Mortgage foreclosure proceedings, bankruptcy issues and bankruptcy adversary proceedings concerning real estate.
